"You carnivores are nothing but monsters! (お前たち肉食獣何てー皆怪物だ！, Omae-tachi nikushokujū nantē min'na kaibutsu da!^?)" ― Tem's last words before his death.

Tem (テム, Temu^?) is a character in Beastars. He was a male alpaca student at Cherryton Academy, and a member of its drama club before suddenly being murdered by one of his classmates at the very beginning of the series.

Appearance

Tem was a small alpaca with brown eyes, light skin, and a fine, white coat of wool that covered most of his body. According to Legoshi, his wool was remarkably soft.

He was typically seen wearing his school uniform, which consisted of a white dress shirt, an indigo vest, a dark gray tie, black suspenders, gray pants with dark gray vertical stripes, and brown loafers.

Personality

Though Tem has made few appearances, he was shown to be an open-minded individual when he was alive. He was quite sociable among his carnivore classmates, as both Legoshi and Riz have described him as a good friend. Despite his friendly nature, Tem did have a more bashful side, which could be seen during his interactions with Els, a girl he had feelings for.

As he was a member of the acting team of the drama club, it can be assumed that Tem was not as withdrawn as Legoshi. Tem was not afraid to speak his mind, and would give very blunt praise or criticism with little hesitation. This is one of the reasons he became friends with Riz, as Riz appreciated Tem's blunt honesty.

Trivia

• In the manga, the culprit's silhouette alludes to a wolf-shaped animal as Tem's killer, despite the fact that Riz is the one responsible for his death. However, this was likely done to mislead the viewer.
• In the anime, the culprit is instead represented as a more vague looking figure, later shown to have round ears.
• In the anime, Tem was shown to die in Lecture Hall 2.
